Show Jumping Nations' Cup goes to the "Oranje" Quartet

18. June 2011

They've come close a few times - and this time they didn't let anybody else snatch the victory. The Dutch Young Riders team won the show jumping Nations' Cup at the Future Champions on the Hof Kasselmann in Hagen a.T.W.. There were only four faults on the score sheet following the challenging two rounds on the big main ring in Hagen a.T.W. The second place went to Great Britain (8) and the US and German teams shared the third place with 24 faults each.

A total of seven teams went to the start in the show jumping decider for Young Riders at the official German Nations' Cup event on the Hof Kasselmann. It's a good sign for youngster promotion. Primus inter Pares in the Dutch team was Wouter Vos, who remained clear in both rounds with Chelsea. The remaining riders in Chef d' Equipe Sven Harmsen's team were Dominique Roelofsen with Umonia, Jody van Gerwen with Waldemar and Ruben Romp with Kadans Webster Sfn. The British followed with only 8 faults in front of the equally placed teams from the USA and Germany. Noticeable: The US team was a ladies only team and the German team consisted of men only.

Winners in two grand prix were also named at the Hof Kasselmann. The Dutch rider Frank Schuttert won the Junior Grand Prix with Winchester, topping a field of 54 competitors with a clear round in 46.79 seconds. And in the youngest category, Children, it was Amy Inglis from Great Britain who took the victory in the grand prix with Happy Ending after producing a clear round in 57.14 seconds - the name couldn't have fit any better.

The Dressage Finals Were in the Tight Grip of the Young Germans
What was already clear in the Nations' Cups was reinforced in the individual finals. The German rider Pia-Katharina Voigtländer from Berlin won the Junior Individual Final at the Hof Kasselmann with Laetitian R. The German riders were able to secure the first to fifth places in the results. In the Pony Individual Final it was Semmieke Rothenberger with Domino Dancing, Jessica Krieg with Ghost and Anna-Lisa Theile with Desmond who captured the places on the podium. Semmieke's older sister Sanneke - European Young Riders Team Champion - continued on to win the Young Riders Kur with Wolke Sieben to complete her families' great day...

It was clear that the "wild kids" celebrated their Nations' Cup and Individual successes in the evening. Although more challenges are coming on Sunday in the main arena and dressage ring...
